Who should attend
This course is aimed at practicing electricians already operating in the domestic environment, to upgrade their existing knowledge to incorporate an understanding of how electrical installations in dwellings must comply with all relevant Building Regulations.
Course Content
We will take you through the general requirements of Building Regulations such as;
- Scope, Purpose and Structure of the Building Regulations
- Understand notifiable and non-notifiable types of building work
- Identify the role of Building Control Services
- Identify relevant approved documents
In just 1 day we are able to bring existing electricians up to date with relevant building regulations and prepare you for a multiple choice exam.
The course will teach the Methods of Compliance for the 7 Parts of the Building Regulations that are most relevant to electrical installations in dwellings.

Outcomes
Successful candidates will receive City & Guilds 2393 Building Regulations in Dwellings
This qualification will help you gain knowledge on building regulations, helping you advance in your practice as an electrician or in another building trade.
If you’d like to develop additional skills that can help you advance in your career, you may want to consider other qualifications, such as:
Level 2 Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification.
Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations.
